Holy Trinity Youth Church

“If church history teaches us anything, it is that we cannot afford to be a vacillating church. We minister to a people who are in great need of hearing truth, we dare not make any attempt to soft pedal that glorious truth.”-Martin Luther

Ministry Overview

The history of ACK Holy Trinity Youth Church is that marked with humble beginnings and a pure determination to transcend all hurdles. Dating back to January 2010, the youth church officially began its services under the leadership of the Late Canon Johnson Mwangi sitting as the Vicar, Reverend Julius Cheche presiding as the first youth pastor and Mrs. Maina as the Youth Matron. The situation at the time, being only able to attract a few members to the newly founded ministry, saw the assumption of one phenomenal Lewis Macharia as the first Chairperson in addition to other leadership roles he played. The church hosted roughly fifteen youths per Sunday, whose number frequently increased during the school holidays to accommodate the teens and pre-teens. There was only one service for all youths running between 7 AM – 9 AM.

The leadership at the time undeniably and undoubtedly made every effort to attract as many youths to the faith, often engaging them in activities. One memorable moment was the participation in the Regional Drama Festival organized by KAMATAKIMO (Kajiado, Machakos, Taita, Kitui, and Mombasa Dioceses), which won the youths an award.

Over the past twenty years, there has been commendable growth in the youth church characterized by a well-structured leadership in form of a committee, an elaborate Praise and Worship team, grouped worship services, increased participation in church activities, Bible Study sessions among others. In Julius Cheche’s reminiscence of our history, “the youths have truly grown and are vibrant compared to the yesteryears, more specially on leadership zeal. It was hard but all worth it.”

With the roll out of the Pre-Teens Service, Teens Service and Main Youth Service, there have also been relentless efforts to roll out a Young Adults Service. We continue to pray, hope and believe in God’s unfailing promises that this too shall come to pass. Today, we are proud to be hosts of a large population of youths, all the more eager to serve God and others.

As we even continue to pray over the completion of the mega church, we know God’s love and faithfulness endures throughout all generations, and this history shall continue to be enriched.
